The USPS is rolling out a line of R2D2 mailboxes in honor of the 30th anniversary of Star Wars -- these are really amazingly cool, they just work really well. It's the Anthony Trollope/George Lucas mashup I've been waiting for all my life! Link (via OhGizmo)

This is a bit older picture but still is amazing to look at. The folks at NASA really do have the coolest looking picture somtimes.
This picture of Earth at night really shows that the bulk of people and cities remain in North America and Western Europe. Cool picture no matter what.
